The U18 Major East Coast Blizzard's playoff series came to a close on Tuesday, April 5th with a 3-2 loss at the Tri Pen Osprey. Tri Pen won the NL semi-final playoff series 4 games to 2, and advanced to the league final to face off with the Pinnacle Growlers.
The Blizzard and Osprey were close rivals all year long. The Blizzard won the season series in the regular season 5 games to 3, but quickly found themselves trailing 3 games to none in their semi-final playoff series. The Blizzard battled back with big wins in games 4 and 5 on home ice in Mt. Pearl, but couldn't hold on in game 6 in Harbour Grace. The Osprey came back from 2-0 down to win the game 3-2 and take the series.
Kyle Tucker, Kyle Garland, Liam Noble and Noah King each scored three goals for the Blizzard in the playoff series. Tucker led the team in points with 8.
Despite the playoff loss, the Blizzard are not done. The East Coast Blizzard will be the host team for the U18 Major Atlantic Championships, happening April 21-24 in Paradise, NL.
